This is a katakuchi teacup with the elegance of a mottled Karatsu tea bowl. When used with sake, the mottled pattern unique to Karatsu ware spreads, and the inside of the bowl changes in a unique way over the years of use. It is a little small and easy to use, and is used to pour sake, but you can also enjoy it by putting seasonings or soup stock in it and arranging it on the dining table.
