Takashi Nakazato's son, Taiki Nakazato, is the current head of Ryuta Kiln and a popular artist who also holds solo exhibitions in Tokyo.
His style is very modern and simple, and rather than pursuing the kiln changes of Karatsu ware, he places emphasis on the beauty of the shape and ease of use while inheriting the traditions of Ryuta Kiln. His works, which are made on his own wheel without relying on the changes in wood-fired kilns or the power of the materials, are very beautiful in shape and comfortable to hold, and have the merit of being able to be used for many years.
Like his father, Takashi, Nakazato holds numerous solo exhibitions throughout the year across the country, but he remains committed to creating contemporary Karatsu pottery. His work reminds us once again of how pottery and the enjoyment of it can enrich a person's lifestyle. Nakazato Taiki's commitment to creating contemporary pottery continues to hold great potential.
