Professor Mito Rui used to be a company employee. At first, she was attracted to Shino tea bowls, but after studying and looking at pottery from around the country, she met her teacher, Kawakami Kiyomi, and was instantly captivated by the charms of Karatsu ware. Karatsu ware has a variety of expressions depending on how it is fired. In order to convey the feelings she puts into her work, she is always creating an image of the work in her head. She also begins by searching for soil, hoping that her work, which contains her feelings, will cheer people up.
She works hard at pottery every day, hoping to connect with those who use her work. Her unwavering strength of character and her unwavering adherence to her beliefs are very impressive.
