Manji Inoue
Born in Arita-cho in 1929. Around 1920, he studied under the 14th Kakiemon Sakaida and Chuemon Okugawa, and mastered the technique of making white porcelain. From 1968, while working at the Prefectural Arita Ceramics Experiment Station, he studied porcelain molding and glaze, mastering traditional white porcelain production techniques. Received the Minister of Labor Award for "Contemporary Master Craftsman" and the Minister of Education Award at the Japan Traditional Art Crafts Exhibition. In 1995, he was certified as an important intangible cultural property holder of white porcelain.
