He is the fifth son of the 12th Nakazato Tarouemon (Muan), a Living National Treasure, and is one of the most popular potters of our time. He is active not only in Karatsu, but all over Japan and the world as a potter. He is also known as a gourmet, and creates sophisticated tableware for his own cooking, which has many fans among chefs.

1937 Born in Karatsu as the fifth son of Living National Treasure Nakazato Muan
1961: Won first place at the 10th Contemporary Japanese Ceramic Art Exhibition for his ceramic sculpture "Two Fishes"
1967 Traveled around the world for a year
1971: Established a kiln in Tanegashima on the recommendation of Fujio Koyama. In September, held his first solo exhibition of Tanegashima ware at Mitsukoshi Department Store in Nihonbashi and Takashimaya Department Store in Osaka.
In 1975, he returned to Karatsu and built a kiln in Mikari, Karatsu City. Fujio Koyama named it Ryuta Kiln. He currently produces pottery in various parts of the world, including Denmark, with his studios in Karatsu and Colorado (USA) as his mainstay.
