This is a katakuchi (a sake cup) that is easy for women to hold. It looks like Karatsu Nanban, but it was made in America.

He is the fifth son of the 12th Nakazato Tarouemon (Muan), a Living National Treasure, and is one of the most popular potters of our time. He is active not only in Karatsu, but all over Japan and the world as a potter. He is also known as a gourmet, and creates sophisticated tableware for his own cooking, which has many fans among chefs.
