The characteristic of pottery is that the surface that is exposed to fire and the surface that is not exposed to fire are clearly visible. The high temperature firing in Karatsu creates a beautiful front view.

This sake cup is slightly wider and shorter in proportion, and has a cuter design than regular cylindrical sake cups. While most cylindrical sake cups are generally long, this piece is wider, and its uniqueness is what makes it so appealing.

In particular, the base is made in the style of a goblin box, and while it usually has a base, this piece is carved out to be completely hollowed out. This technique makes the piece lower in height, and gives it a horizontal overall proportion, accentuating its cute charm.
