He is the fifth son of the 12th Nakazato Tarouemon (Muan), a Living National Treasure, and one of the most popular potters of his time. He is active not only in Karatsu, but all over Japan and the world as a potter. He is also known as a gourmet, and creates sophisticated tableware for his own cooking, which has earned him many fans among chefs.

[Ceramic history]
1937 Born in Karatsu as the fifth son of Living National Treasure Nakazato Muan
1961: Won first prize at the 10th Contemporary Japanese Ceramic Art Exhibition for his ceramic sculpture "Two Fishes"
1967 Traveled around the world for a year
1971: Established a kiln in Tanegashima on the recommendation of Fujio Koyama
First solo exhibition of Tanegashima ware at Mitsukoshi Nihonbashi and Takashimaya Osaka in September
1975 Returned to Karatsu and built a kiln in Mikari, Karatsu city
Named Ryuta Kiln by Fujio Koyama
Currently, he is active in his studios in Karatsu and Colorado (USA), as well as in Denmark and other parts of the world.
