Hanako Nakazato
Raised in Karatsu, he moved to the United States alone at the age of 16, and spent the rest of his life there. Aware of Japan's unique food culture, he returned to his hometown after graduating from university and learned pottery from his father, Takashi Nakazato.
Starting with a parent-child exhibition in Manyo-dong, Tokyo in 2000, he has held numerous solo exhibitions in Japan and the United States.
In 2007, he established his own workshop, monohanako, in his hometown of Karatsu.
Established monoahanakowest in Maine in 2010. Currently, he is making pottery by going back and forth between Karatsu and Maine for half a year.
