[Ceramics history]
Born in Karatsu in 1930 as the third son of the 12th Nakazato Tarouemon.
1952: First time selected for the Nitten Exhibition
1956: Won the Matsuzakaya Award at the 5th Contemporary Japanese Ceramic Art Exhibition sponsored by the Asahi Shimbun Company
1964: Exhibited at the Japanese Contemporary Crafts and Arts Exhibition, which toured various cities in the United States and Mexico
1965: Won the Hokuto Prize at the 8th Nitten Exhibition for his work "Sangen-tsubo"
1966: Exhibited at the Contemporary Japanese Crafts and Arts Exhibition in Rome
1967: Exhibited at the Contemporary Japanese Crafts and Arts Exhibition in London
1969: Became a member of the Contemporary Crafts Artists Association
1970: Exhibited "Mask" at the 9th Japanese Contemporary Crafts and Arts Exhibition
1971: Became a judge for the 10th Japanese Contemporary Crafts and Arts Exhibition
1973: Built a kiln in Kanda Yamaguchi, Karatsu City to study old Karatsu techniques.
1974 Solo exhibition at Takashimaya in Tokyo and Kyoto (since then held in various locations)
1975: Won the Member's Award and the Minister of Education Award at the 14th Japanese Contemporary Crafts and Arts Exhibition
1976: Became a judge for the Nitten Exhibition. Changed the name of the kiln to Sangen-gama.
1977: Became a member of the Nitten Exhibition
Became a council member of the Contemporary Crafts Artists Association
1980: Won the Member's Award and the Kusube Award at the Japan New Crafts Exhibition
Became a judge for the Chunichi International Ceramic Art Exhibition
1981: Became a judge for the Kyushu Yamaguchi Ceramic Art Exhibition
1982: Became a judge for the Nitten Exhibition (since 1985)
1985: Saga Prefecture Art and Culture Merit Award
1986: Became a council member of the Nitten Exhibition
1993 Awarded by the Saga Prefectural Board of Education
1996 Prefectural Government Merit Award
2000: Exhibited at the British Museum's "Saga Prefecture Ceramic Art Exhibition"
2001: Exhibited at the "World Ceramic Expo 2001" in Icheon, Yeoju and Gwangju
2002 Regional Cultural Merit Award (Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology Award)
