Newsletter (October 3, 2025, by Yu Maruta)
Hello everyone.
As October begins, the sounds of Karatsu Kunchi festival music practice begin to fill the streets of Karatsu at night. This is a seasonal autumn tradition in Karatsu, and excitement is building as the day approaches.
There are plenty of events planned for this fall, including the 73rd Kyushu Fireworks Festival, which will be held tomorrow, Saturday, on the banks of the Matsuura River. This historic fireworks festival was once held in late July near Nishinohama and the mouth of the Matsuura River, and was beloved as an event marking the start of summer. Since the COVID-19 pandemic, the festival's timing and location have changed, but it remains an event eagerly awaited by Karatsu residents, as well as people from within and outside the prefecture. Listening to the sounds of autumn insects while watching the fireworks is also quite charming.
We are continuing to feature works by Maruta Yu on our online store, as we did last week. These are pre-order items for restaurants, but if you are a general customer and would like to see any of his works, please feel free to contact us via LINE.
The weather is cool in the mornings and evenings, and the days are comfortable. I hope you all stay healthy this weekend.
