Newsletter (September 19, 2025, Senji Kumamoto)
Hello everyone.
The equinox starts tomorrow.
It is said that "the heat and cold will last until the equinox," and it looks like the long, intense heat is finally coming to an end.
Now, the Gofukumachi Shopping Street will be holding the Karatsu Sake Brewery Summit 2025, the day after tomorrow, on the 21st.
This year, 14 breweries from Saga Prefecture will gather at Gofuku Enmusubi Street. This is an event unique to Karatsu, where you can walk around drinking with a Karatsu-yaki chocolate in hand.
Every year, the event features a collaboration with a Karatsu ware artist, and this year, Wada Yoshitsune of Yoshitsugama has created 200 specially made choco. The limited advance tickets have already sold out, but same-day tickets are also available, so please come and enjoy with your own choco or sake cup.
In addition, our online shop also features works by Kumamoto Senji of Sekisui Kiln, which are popular in our Ichibankan store. They come in wooden boxes, making them perfect for gifts.
With the arrival of autumn, the flavor of sake deepens even more.
I hope you have a great weekend this week too.
Naoki Sakamoto, Owner of Ichibankan
