Newsletter (June 20, 2025, Kota Tanaka)
Hello everyone.
The heat continues to be so intense that it's hard to believe that we're in a break from the rainy season.
The temperature just before the hottest day at this time of year is,
I can't help but feel that the weather is abnormal.
Please take good care of your health.
Now, on a personal note, at the regular meeting next Tuesday,
Karatsu Rotary Club, where I served for one year.
I will be completing my term as president for the 2024-2025 fiscal year.
This year, one of Rotary's principles, "Vocational Service,"
In other words, "Contributing to the community through one's own work"
It was also a time for me to reexamine this way of thinking in my own way.
Branding and promoting Karatsu ware
It's not just about "selling things,"
My job involves conveying the charm and cultural value of the Karatsu area.
In terms of bringing beauty and richness to the user's daily life,
I feel this is also a form of vocational service.
This week's online store continues to feature works by Tanaka Kota, as we did last week.
He is one of the ceramic artists who is rooted in the land of Karatsu and who is enhancing the value of the region along with Karatsu's food culture.
Please take your time to look around.
Well then, everyone, the intense heat continues,
Have a nice weekend.
