Newsletter (June 13, 2025, Kota Tanaka)

Hello everyone.

The rainy season has begun in northern Kyushu, and we are already experiencing heavy rain.
Shortly after the refreshing feeling of spring and early summer arrived, midsummer temperatures arrived, and before we knew it, the rainy season had arrived.
This rainy season has also brought disaster-level heavy rain,
There are concerns that extreme heat of nearly 40 degrees Celsius will occur during sunny days during the rainy season.
Everyone, please be careful of abnormal weather.

Well, the other day I visited Toyama City.
Last week, we talked about gastronomy tourism, and many attractive restaurants have been opening in Toyama.
I was very inspired.

One of the most memorable places was the auberge "L'evo" in Toga Village.
This restaurant has been featured on NHK's "Close-up Gendai" and is currently attracting attention nationwide.
Since the store first opened, all of the products have been made by potters from the Iwase area of Toyama.
This is a work by Shakunaga Gaku.
Shakunaga's tableware is also used in many other restaurants in Iwase, and he is promoting the "culture of tableware" within the concept of local production and consumption.
It is also firmly embedded,
I felt that a very positive cycle was being created.

In Karatsu, not only during the Yakimon Festival,
I was once again convinced that if the synergistic effect of "food and tableware" could be created on a daily basis, this area would become a place where people could enjoy unique and one-of-a-kind gastronomy.

This week's online store features works by Tanaka Kota.
Along with Hizen Komainu, its reputation as an everyday tableware is increasing.
Many customers are pleased with it.

Karatsu is home to many unique and fascinating ceramic artists.
Please continue to pay attention to Karatsu's food and tableware.

It looks like the rainy days will continue, but please stay safe everyone.
Please take care of yourself and have a great weekend.
