Karatsu Yakimon Club (July 12, 2024)

 Hello everyone.

The town of Hakata is bustling with the Hakata Gion Yamakasa festival.
The climax will come with the Oiyama race in the early morning of the 15th.
Normally the rainy season ends after the Oiyama festival, but this year we still need to prepare for flooding, as the situation remains unpredictable in all regions.

Recently, the town of Karatsu has seen an increase in the number of S-class restaurants opening.
Japanese food, French food, gyoza bar, etc. What all the stores have in common is that they use Karatsu ware. Karatsu, a city of food and culture. Karatsu, a city of gourmet food.
If the collaboration and marriage of Karatsu ware with these dishes takes root, I believe that the "matchmaking between food and tableware" that I began talking about 12 years ago will become a reality as a characteristic of the town.
The restaurant's reputation is gradually increasing.

This is a dish made by Kota Tanaka of Bochugama. It has a punchy and unique design, but it also has the strength to bring out the flavor of any food served on it. This online store also features the black Karatsu tea bowls that were exhibited at the thematic exhibition at the Former Karatsu Bank during this year's Yakimono Festival.
The Hizen Komainu statues made from Karatsu ware are also very popular. We will be keeping a close eye on Professor Tanaka's future pottery creations. This weekend includes Marine Day, making it a three-day weekend.
I hope you all have a great weekend this week. Owner of Ichibankan Naoki Sakamoto
