Newsletter (2024/10/11 Shuichi Okamoto New Works Exhibition)

Hello everyone.
The SAGA2024 National Sports and All-Area Sports Event is currently being held in Saga Prefecture, and the event is extremely lively with many members of the Imperial Family, including Their Majesties the Emperor and Empress, as well as Princess Aiko and Princess Kako, visiting Saga Prefecture.
Ichibankan is also visited by many visitors from all over Japan, including families who have come to support the athletes.

The gallery on the second floor is currently hosting the "Okamoto Shuichi New Works Exhibition: Karatsu Tradition and New Design," and as expected this exhibition has been very well received by customers in the culinary industry. Following the previous "Maruta Munehiko, Soichiro, and Yu: Father and Son Trio Exhibition," this once again confirmed the popularity of Karatsu ware tableware.
While Okamoto Shuichi's works retain the solid texture of Karatsu ware, they also have a sensuous modern feel to them, and there are many pieces that give a glimpse into the relationship between Karatsu ware and cooking in five or ten years' time.
The exhibition will continue until the 14th (Monday, national holiday), so if you haven't seen it yet, please come and visit the venue. Also, on the 13th (Sunday), we will be holding an event in our shopping arcade to unveil the fourth float of the Karatsu Kunchi festival, Yoshitsune's helmet, which has been completely restored. Everyone will be able to enjoy the floats all day in an atmosphere of "Five Fortunes Festival," so please come along.

Well then, everyone, I hope you have a great weekend during the three-day weekend starting tomorrow.

Naoki Sakamoto, Owner of Ichibankan
