As for Karatsu ware, we are working together with the Nakazato family to pass on the tradition and develop it in the future.

    We focus on the works of Takashi Nakazato, Tagame, Hanako, and the father and son, as well as popular artists such as Sakurei Okamoto, Yasumoto Kajiwara, and Munehiko Maruta, as well as young artists such as Naoto Yano and Masahiro Takehana.

At Ichibankan, based on the concept of "everyday luxury," we strive to offer genuine tableware that enriches daily life and can be used for a long time.

On the 1st floor, "Art Ceramics Shop Ichibankan" has been selling ceramics since 1976. Since then, the 14th Nakazato Taroemon, the 14th Imaizumi Imaemon, the 15th Sakai, who are called the Sanemon of Hizen. Focusing on the works of each teacher of Tagakiemon, you can see the best selection of Karatsu ware and Arita ware in one place. On the 2nd floor, "GALLERY Ichibankan" holds solo exhibitions and special exhibitions of ceramic artists, and the permanent exhibition mainly introduces the works of young Karatsu artists.
In addition, at the Karatsu Choko Bar in front of the Karatsu main store, you can enjoy delicious Karatsu tea, sake, and dishes on Karatsu ware with the theme of the matchmaking between food and tableware. In addition, we aim to create a place where people can connect with each other and where locals and travelers can interact.

In our online shop, we will introduce the pottery of Ichibankan so that you can feel the goodness of Karatsu ware and Arita ware through the internet for those who do not have time to come to Karatsu.
